Down With Fractions!

“Fractions have had their day, being useful for by-hand calculation,” DeTurck said as part of a 60-second lecture series. “But in this digital age, they’re as obsolete as Roman numerals are.”

Do you think this is a good idea?  No more fractions?  We better hope someone knows how to use them, so they can generate programs for the masses to get answers to many daily problems that require fractions.  There are “quarters” everywhere and “halves” too…  Doctors, nurses, chemists, biologists, physicists use fractions daily to convert one unit into another.  I am not sure how we could get by without teaching fractions to students at a young age in fact.  Thoughts?

i really found the article about the cleansing the colon a bit like how weight loss ads. i am wondering why they arent giving any scientific information about whats in these “parasites” no body is proving that these are dangerous and no medical testing as to these parasites not being abnormal. i think they are backing a product. we are always going to have parasites and sometimes ignorance is bliss.(as long as its not harmful)we are living in something called the human condition. if they can prove that these things are harmfull i would take it seriously if not they are just using the pictures as shock value to sell a product and isn’t that so american we fear everything and here is one more.its pathetic
