Is the Environment Important?

Some people think environment problems will take care of themselves and others think they we have to do something about them.    Coincidentally I just started reading the book “Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed” by Jared Diamond and Scientific America just had a podcast by this very author.  He makes some of his points in this short segment.  Here is a link to the podcast:  (you have to scroll down to the June 13th episode – the link below the sciam site will download the podcast)

Hydrogen Gas

This is an interesting article on a new method for generating hydrogen gas.  This addresses the problem of storing tanks of hydrogen gas.  Science Friday covered this topic this past Friday as well.  All the alternatives have some problems with them, but having multiple options for transportation seems promising.

New process generates hydrogen from aluminum alloy to run engines, fuel cells from PhysOrg.com
